  • List of major changes:

The new version of VirtualBox 7.1.6 has been released, the release of version 7.1 was in 2024. Installation packages for the new version are already available for macOS, Windows, Fedora, Ubuntu, openSUSE, RHEL, and Debian users.

There are 9 major changes in the new release, and 2 vulnerabilities have been fixed.

List of major changes:

  • For Linux guest systems and Linux hosts, support for the kernel package in RHEL 9.6 has been added. Some improvements regarding UBSAN warning have been made.
  • Added support for kernel 6.13 for Linux guest systems. Fixed some graphics issues with additional patches for kernels 6.12/6.4.
  • The appearance of a blue screen in the VM manager was fixed during the launch of Windows 11.
  • A new guest system type has been added to run Windows Server 2025.
  • Previously there were some issues with screen flickering when using VMSVGA graphics adapter, in the new version - this issue has been successfully resolved.
  • In VirtioNet after resetting there will be no more problems with applying the same settings.
  • Changed driver installation for Windows guest systems and hosts.
  • Support for import/export to VBoxManage for VMs that use the  NVMe controller is now available.
  • Since GTK2 support is discontinued, some libraries have been removed from the package with the Solaris.
  • The dialog box in the GUI has been slightly modified and some additional settings have been added.
