Sinkclose will not be completely eliminated by AMD specialists

AMD has officially announced that some processors have a serious vulnerability. Many chips released since 2006 have significant issues that make it much easier for hackers to intrude into the system. Unfortunately, not all chips with the Sinkclose vulnerability will receive the appropriate update.
Hackers can run malware on AMD processors, and this has become a reality largely due to the Sinkclose vulnerability. Fighting such malicious processes on the system is very difficult and it is almost impossible to remove the software. To remove the malware, it is necessary to physically erase the contents of the chip, and this can only be done with the help of a programmer. The risks for all users are very high because hackers can access the memory and control the OS. AMD, of course, reacted to this problem, and updates have already been released for several processors.
For older products, AMD will not be releasing updates due to the end of software support. The company will not be updating Threadripper 1000/2000 and Ryzen 1000/2000/3000. There are also no new models on the list of processors that will receive updates, but there is a high probability that their vulnerabilities have been addressed during the production phase.
Processors that will definitely have updates or have already received updates include:
- MI300A for data centers.
- New Ryzen and Threadripper series.
- All AMD EPYC processors for data centers.
Of course, this is not a complete list of processors, but just a few examples. AMD recommends upgrading processors for all users for whom it will be possible.
EPYC Embedded and Ryzen Embedded will also get the upgrade. After all, embedded processors function in the background, and this creates significant security risks.
