The Linux 6.14 kernel release was presented on March 24 of this year. The 6.15 release is scheduled for late spring, early summer of this year, while the 6.13 release was delivered in mid-January.

The release of the source code will be available soon, and users will be able to test it.

Improvements and additions in Linux 6.14

The new release features support for new solutions and processors from PowerPC, AMD, and nVidia. In addition, there is support for the following hardware: TI LP8864/LP8866, QCS615, SM8750, Airoha EN7581 SoC, Qualcomm X1P42100, ZynqMP, and many more.

There is now support for Btrfs RAID1 read balancing, non-cached buffered I/O, and a new ntsync subsystem. Furthermore, the project also adds the fsnotify pre-access event type, cgroup controller, and support for reflink, DRM panic, Intel Clearwater Forest server, SELinux permissions, and FUSE.

The 6.14 release will also expand the Rust capabilities, which could be a big bonus.
