On August 26-27, Zen 5 and Lunar Lake processors will be announced- insights that are available now

Regarding the current data about the Hot Chips 2024 event, you can already check the program of presentations from such companies as NVIDIA, Intel, AMD, and many others. In a fairly short period, visitors will be able to access presentations and review manuals, which will be available online and in real life.

Intel

The first day of the meeting will include a presentation of Intel's new Lunar Lake processor. Besides, there will be a presentation of optical networks, Granite Rapids D, and a detailed review of AI systems.

According to the primary available data, Lunar Lake architecture will have significant modifications in AI performance compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chip. Lunar Lake is expected to be released in the 3rd quarter of this year.

There will be significant changes in the energy efficiency of the new laptops. Power consumption will be reduced by 20 percent, which will have a significant impact on battery life.

Intel has greatly improved all computing parts in Lunar Lake, particularly because of integration with the Xe2 architecture. This will be the first time such changes have been implemented in Lunar Lake and will guarantee significant performance improvements.

The latest processor will consist of 4 chips, which indicates that the company has incorporated the GPU and SoC. Unfortunately, no details are available yet regarding the exact specifications of the processor, but it is known that Lunar Lake MX will consist of 4 P-core.

There is a high chance that Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake will be based on identical architecture. All new processors will have better power and more cores. Also, high-performance laptops will function better with Arrow Lake.

AMD

On the second day of the event, AMD is going to present Zen 5. We hope that a comprehensive view of Zen 5 will be formed after the presentation because at the moment there are only some unconfirmed data leaks and few details.

Earlier, it was reported that the AMD CEO will give a presentation in early June before Computex 2024. The report will include important information regarding better performance and AI.

There is a high possibility that the corporation will present the Granite Ridge series, previously called Ryzen 9000, as well as the Ryzen AI 100 series. These two projects based on Zen5 architecture will be released this year.   

NVIDIA and others

Chips for data centers and Blackwell RTX 50xx cards for ordinary users will also be presented soon. Here are the presentations of some of the products that will definitely take place:
