New processors will become significantly more expensive with 2 nm TSMC wafers becoming 50% more expensive

According to IBS analysts, 2-nanometer TSMC wafers may reach the price of as much as $30 000 per unit, which is 50% more expensive, than 3nm wafers costing $20 000. Apple may be affected the most, being the first to have ordered the processors.

Nvidia being the most significant chip manufacturer, sells processes based on 5nm process technology. After the introduction of 2nm, NVIDIA is likely to be looking to possibilities to produce 2nm chips on their own.

TSMC is not likely to overproduce the 2nm wafers, so if too many chip manufacturers is eager to benefit from their products, there will be a deficit, which will be compensated with the higher cost of devices for end users.
