AMD has introduced a new generation of its graphics cards based on RDNA 4 architecture.
The cards have not yet been presented in detail. But recently, new information about the characteristics of the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 has emerged: the graphics cards are likely to have 16 GB of memory and more streaming processors than those based on RDNA 3. The models also promise significant performance and energy efficiency improvements over the previous generation.
Detailed Specifications of the Graphics Cards
The RX 9070 series is said to have PCIe 5.0 support, while the RX 9070 XT series will offer 4096 SP and 16GB of GDDR6 memory, as well as a 256-bit interface and 20Gbps speed.
The RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT will have an estimated bandwidth of 640 GB/s, less than the RX 7900. The GPU of the RX 9070 XT card will operate at a frequency of 2.4 to 2.97 GHz.
The regular RX 9070 will have 16GB of GDDR6 memory, but fewer stream processors, 3584 to be exact, and will also operate at lower frequencies compared to the RX 9070 XT.
These limitations in the card design were made to ensure lower power consumption.
