MSI has announced that it has replaced the traditional 8-pin power connectors for graphics cards in its new MSI MPG A1000GS and MPG A1250GS power supplies, as not all graphics units support this connector. The change is aimed at improving connectivity stability and simplifying system assembly for users.

New Power Standards for Modern Graphics Cards

With modern GPUs demanding more and more power, standard 8-pin connectors are starting to give way to more reliable solutions.

MSI introduces updated 12VHPWR connectors, capable of delivering up to 600W of power through a single cable. The company is looking to move away from 6x2 connectors in favor of 12x4-pin connectors.

Compatibility and Availability

MSI's new power supplies with the updated connectors will be available in the coming months. They will be compatible with most modern graphics cards and provide users with the ability to prepare their system for future generations of GPUs.
