Micron's new solid-state drives feature speeds exceeding 26GB/sec. This maximum read performance is well ahead of all the current models.
The current best speeds found in PCIe Gen 5 drives are at 14GB/s and Micron Crucial T705 at 14,500MB/s.
Consumer platforms do not currently support PCIe Gen 6-based drives. AMD and Intel's new boards are comparable only to PCIe Gen 5.
In fact, the announced drives will be in demand in artificial intelligence system architectures and targeted at data centers.
The T705 is an available option for regular users, but in addition to it, the company has also announced the new 9550. The announced product will focus on data centers and will have a capacity of 30.72 TB.
In addition, the D20 and D60 series of SSDs were also announced. The Addlink D60 SSDs will have a maximum capacity of 1920 GB and a minimum capacity of 480 GB.
