Based on existing data from Omdia, SK Hynix has significantly increased its numbers regarding the DRAM memory market. The company now owns almost 35 percent of the total market volume, which means that they have almost caught up with Samsung Electronics with their figures now standing at 39.4 percent rate. SK Hynix is also making significant gains in the server memory market, with current figures showing 49.6 percent. In contrast, Samsung in this category gets 35.2 percent of revenue. In dollars, this figure for SK Hynix is 1.85 mil, while for Samsung it is 1.31 mil.

In the general market, Samsung is still in the lead, but SK Hynix has reached first place in the server segment. Third place in this top is left to Micron with $560 mil of revenue and 15 percent on the market.

As for the entire DRAM market, server memory represents 35-40 percent of the market. Because of this, SK Hynix has moved significantly closer to Samsung.  DDR5 from SK Hynix has Intel certification, and the 5th-generation memory is in testing mode. SK Hynix products have Intel certification for 4th generation memory, while Samsung is only for 3rd generation.
