Intel's Response
After numerous user complaints and tests confirming the existence of defects, Intel publicly acknowledged the problem, calling the situation a “humbling lesson.” Intel has clarified that under certain conditions, system performance may decrease. And the more such conditions exist, the worse the system performs. Most of the problems with the processors occurred at the OS and BIOS levels.
Nevertheless, the company apologized for the inconvenience and assured customers that it was working on fixes. The firmware update is planned to be released in several stages, with the final update, which is expected to fix the main problems, available by the end of December.
Promises to Improve Quality Control
Intel emphasized that it plans to revise internal testing and quality control standards to prevent similar situations in the future. In particular, the company intends to pay more attention to processor performance under prolonged load conditions and strengthen cooling system checks to ensure stable performance and temperature control.
What Does This Mean for Users?
For users who have already purchased Core Ultra 200S processors, the whole situation is inconvenient. However, given Intel's promises, we can hope that the problem will be resolved soon. At the same time, this incident serves as a reminder that even the largest technology companies are not immune to mistakes.
