On January 8, 2024, the GitHub Certifications program became publicly available with an eye on improving the career prospects of developers, being formerly available only to GitHub employees and partners.
The attempt cost for a single exam in GitHub Certifications is $200 with 120 minutes to complete the text.
One can prepare for the GitHub Certifications test by using the Candidate Handbook. Other free learning materials include GitHub Foundations, GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security, and GitHub Administration.
The first prototype of the program was presented by the GitHub Foundational beta exam GH-100 launched in 2020, aimed at giving the developers the possibility to demonstrate their skills related to GitHub, a versatile and extremely widely used platform.
