A new transatlantic has been recently launched, connecting Great Britain, France, and the USA. The construction of the cable was primarily done by Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN).

The new transatlantic backbone will provide in the first place a connection between EXA Inffrastcturre data centers in Boston, Orange data centers in Le Porge (Bordeau), as well as Vodafone data centers in Boode, UK.

According to Meta, the new cable will provide a more reliable connection with increased bandwidth. Microsoft, in turn, mentioned that the cable will provide better conditions for the development of cloud services. Aqua Comms and Vodafone are very optimistic about the project as well.

Vodafone reports that in the next years to come there will be a 6 times increase of transatlantic bandwidth to meet the needs of contemporary network infrastructure. The new cable has also an increased sustainability compared to older solutions, with two times less energy required and ten times increased capacity.
